Cohomological Characterizations of Projective Spaces and Hyperquadrics
Projective spaces and hyperquadrics are the simplest projective algebraic varieties, and they can be characterized in many ways. The aim of this paper is to provide a new characterization of them in terms of positivity properties of the tangent bundle (Theorem 1.1). The first result in this direction was Mori’s proof of the Hartshorne conjecture in [Mor79] (see also Siu and Yau [SY80]), that ch...
متن کاملOn the Cohomological Crepant Resolution Conjecture for Weighted Projective Spaces
We investigate the Cohomological Crepant Resolution Conjecture for reduced Gorenstein weighted projective spaces. Using toric methods, we prove this conjecture in some new cases. As an intermediate step, we show that weighted projective spaces are toric Deligne-Mumford stacks. We also describe a combinatorial model for the orbifold cohomology of weighted projective spaces.
متن کاملTorus Actions on Weakly Pseudoconvex Spaces
We show that the univalent local actions of the complexification of a compact connected Lie group K on a weakly pseudoconvex space where K is acting holomorphically have a universal orbit convex weakly pseudoconvex complexification. We also show that if K is a torus, then every holomorphic action of K on a weakly pseudoconvex space extends to a univalent local action of KC.
متن کاملFree Torus Actions and Two-stage Spaces
We prove the toral rank conjecture of Halperin in some new cases. Our results apply to certain elliptic spaces that have a two-stage Sullivan minimal model, and are obtained by combining new lower bounds for the dimension of the cohomology and new upper bounds for the toral rank. The paper concludes with examples and suggestions for future work.
